Bring Again The Now Of Then
What does it mean to be forgotten in your own life-time? To be aware your work is slipping from collective memory? Gertrud Grunow, the only female master during its spiritual phase of the Bauhaus in Weimar, worked with fellow colleagues whom depended upon her research to underpin their own teachings. Bring Again The Now Of Then finds Gertrud in her study as she collects piles of papers containing a lifetime’s work. As she files, reminiscing of her time at the Bauhaus, the story of the school’s early years unfolds. It was an environment of artists, spiritualists, designers, synesthetes, philosophers and opinionated students; in a society of revolutionaries, reactionaries, communists, conservatives, nationalists and internationalists. Sensing her time is near an end, Gertrud approaches an unlikely contact to compile her esoteric manuscript. It’s not too late…is it?
